American Dream

In our culture it appears that everyone seems to be trying to pursue the American Dream. While they all have different ideas of just exactly what the American Dream is, they all know precisely what they want. For some, the American Dream sounds so enticing that they have traveled across the world to achieve their goal. They work hard to fit in and succeed, but for some, success doesn't always come. The American dream is a perception that life in America is great and if I move to, or live there now, there will be financial freedom and wealth, and all my dreams are possible. .
The American dream is a passion, which burns strongly inside those with desire to learn and prosper. Because of the plethora of opportunities we have in America, the American dream is a reality to many people today. The validity of the American dream differs from person to person, depending on their dedication and worth ethic. Nevertheless, the American dream is a reachable goal for everyone; however, whether or not it is achieved depends on the person.
             Body.
My thesis, in bold, is an ideology that I want to look at in detail and break it into two main parts. I want to look at those who already live here and have gone on to do extraordinary things because they have a dream and believed in it when no one else would. I want to take a close look at some individuals like Walt Disney, Martin Luther King, and those who were driven passionately by a vision of success. I will look more closely to what fueled them to believe that America was the place to live and establish their vision.
The other main part of the equation I want to look at is the foreign perspective and what people from other countries think of America in the sense of freedom, and equality, all in terms of pursuing the American Dream. To narrow the scope, I will use certain examples of individuals who moved to America in journey of their ambitions. .
Thirdly, with both of that in mind, I will look at if the over all perception of the American Dream in the 20th Century is just an attempt to reach its illusionary goals and that if there is a dream; and it is squashed by either government control, economic disparity, or lack of motivation and drive.
