Relationships

The purpose of this paper is to discuss two stories that concern relationships amongst family members. The first story is about a father and daughter and the second story is about a great aunt and her niece.
In the first story the father had an obsession with vans, but I really don't think it has anything to do with the vans. I think it is how the daughter associates herself with her father. When the father comes home with a new van she was very happy, because she would get to see him.
When the mother and father divorced she felt her mother was stuck with her, yet she had a stable life with her mother and stepfather. I felt she was very happy with her new family, but I know she still missed her father very much.
There was a part in the story I found funny. The father had this dog by the name Perito. He had this dog for a very long time. The father walked in and out of his daughter's life, but he never got rid of the dog.
The father would take his daughter and her friend driving around the neighborhood to see the cool kids. She enjoyed cruising in the car with her father, but I really don't think a father should be cruising around the streets. The father tries to be more of a friend to his daughter then a father. Maybe he was afraid she would not love him if he didn't do these things with her. .
When her father went into the carpentry business and bought a truck, Astrea was not happy. The reason I thought she was not happy was because she lost her connection with her father. .
When the father came home with a new van she was very excited. She looked at him and noticed that his silver hair was the same color as the van. I really think when she looked at him she seen how time has pasted and things were never going to change. I think she was okay with that, because it didn't matter how she got to see her father as long as she got to see him. .
In the second story Astrea had a great aunt by the name of Ethel.
