I grew frantic when I heard it was Ralph that fell over. I went on my gut instinct and sprinted over and secured a life preserver to myself and jumped into the raging black sea. I was blind out there in the dark I swam the very best that I could, searching for a sign of my brother, I called his name but all I heard were the screams of the pounding waves smashing the ocean. Then I turned around and was facing a huge black wall of a wave climbing higher and higher until I could see it starting to break; I swam as fast and hard as I could, pounding the water, splashing, kicking harder and harder until .
August 5, 2001 I have been on the island for a couple of days now I think. I woke up on the shore of an island similar to one you would see in the movie Blue Lagoon. It is really beautiful, I mean at least when I die I get to die in paradise. I keep thinking about Ralph. I don't know if they ever found him. I wonder if maybe he too like me is stranded on some island alone with no food, water, and no means of contacting help. Oh God I am so scared, I mean I don't have a clue where I am. I've been praying all the time now. I pray for my brother's safety, the safety of the men on board the ship, my mother and family, I know they must be in so much pain right now. Not only do they run the chance of losing me but they might have lost my brother as well. Well I am getting kinda tired, that is all I do now is just sleep I am to depressed and I am also so scared its the only comforting thing I can think of. I"ll write back again hopefully. .
August 6, 2001 well thank god I am still here. Yesterday all I did was sleep, but today I decided to actually venture out into the jungle. It was everything you see in the movies, the vines, the huge thick green leaves, and the sounds of bugs singing to one another. It was really wet and humid, it reminded me of being in the Baltimore Aquarium where they have a section of a tropical rainforest, with many species of birds and plant life rich in greens and moist like the dew in the morning grass.
