             Life is the story of my life Life is many things. Many have tried to explain the meaning of life or even simply what it is. Life is too great, too rich to be limited by some scientific rendering; I much prefer to strive to understand life's poetic nuances. Life's purpose was never to live to define the phenomenon, only to live a life worthy of the gift we have been given.
             My Life in a Circle.
             My life is a circle, a rhythmic oscillation of events repeating over and over. Sometimes I feel as if the course of my life is on a continuously repeating cycle. Constantly, I am reminded of similar events, places or points in my life that I feel as if have lived before. Every few years, I feel the need to settle into a familiar sense of routine. At the end of a series of tremulous events, the horizon becomes flat and unwavering. It is during these periods of my life that I have the clearest vision of the future; I can anticipate what is coming and what I need to do. After some time of collecting my thoughts and riding the smooth current, I decide that it is time for a change. Once again, with renewed vigor and resolve I make a staggering trek to the next plateau, and my life has come full circle.
             My Life is a Journey.
             Many people think of their life as a journey, an epic adventure or even a tour of duty. I think that life is a journey, a chance to walk the path and see where it leads us. The life as a journey metaphor is "A conventional metaphor in which life is represented as a journey having such things as layovers and obstacles to be gotten over" (LinguaLinks Library, 1999). I believe that the preceding definition is in essence, true; however, there is a minor flaw. The course if one's life is not just a map of hurdles and obstacles, there are many more wonderful things that we experience which make life worth living.
