Drama

What is a play? Is it simply a novel acted out on stage? Is it a movie performed live? Many people would think so but that is because true theater is sometimes lost due to the extravagance of the Broadway musical. A play is much more of its own art and can not be so closely compared to film or other forms of literature. There are different criteria to evaluating plays, pomes, novels, films, etc. in terms of what is important and what is not. Plays in themselves follow a unique checklist of necessities for excellence, based on the critic of course, who, by extraordinary circumstances, is me. Each critic has their own idea of what makes a play a play and a good play at that. Is it readability or visual? Really it depends on the person.
The definition of literature, in the broadest sense, is everything that has ever been written. Anything from the earliest poems of Homer, to today's web pages, can be considered literature. But for a specific sense, there are various kinds of literature. A for of literature, fiction, is writing that an author creates from the imagination. Authors may include personal experience, or facts about real people or events, but they combine these facts with imagined situations. Literature is a broad term that headers novels, drama, poetry, prose, and even film and television, but they are all very different. Novels tell a story much like any other form of literature but much of the imagination is done for the reader. In a novel there is no need for the reader to visualize a setting of their own because a good novel should do it for you. Novels and short stories take a reader on a trip outside of reality; there is no need for a reader to do anything more than read because everything else from laughter, tears, and folk dancing is descriptively expressed for them. .
The writer of novels, unlike drama, is not bound by anything. A million things could happen in a million places and the story could be all the better.
