Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

The poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening" by Robert Frost tells the story of a man; perhaps the poet, who stops by the woods a watches as snow falls. He refers to a time when he felt great loneliness and depression and tries expressing it to us. To emphasise this, he describes the surroundings to fit his feelings.
The subject of the poem is "calmness", "loneliness" and "emotions", and the theme is "a man in the woods", "the handling of emotions, being able to keep calm during them", or "a man experiencing the contemplation of death". .
The mood of the poem is calm, but at the same time rich. The poet, Robert Frost tries to make us see the picture of a calm winter evening. The imagery shows a vivid picture in my mind. There are eight syllables on each line, which gives it a smooth chant. The rhythm scheme of the poem may be shown as: aaba, bbcb, ccdc, dded. The poem reflects tranquillity, as the words used are very simple and straightforward.
The first stanza helps to provide us with the imagery and with the wording, help us to see how slow the poem actually goes when read out loud. For example when he is saying that he has a lot of time to just stand still and watch the snow as it falls. This gives me the impression that time and use of a good tone is needed to read the poem the way it was intended to. .
It mentions the "woods", which in fact represent "a stage in his life when he is contemplating death". He also mentions in a way how the woods are located away from civilisation as show in line two.
In the second stanza states more of a location than the first stanza did so. We are told in this second stanza that there are no farmhouses nearby "without a farmhouse near". The location is between the woods and a frozen lake. It also informs us that it is the darkest evening of the year; perhaps because there is a scientifical explanation for it, or else it is the worst "darkest" day of the year; maybe because something bad is going to happen, for example death or emotions might be part of it.
