Judgement at First Sight

A good example could be that, nowadays, when we see an African-American driving a fancy car, the first thing we think is that he/she is a drug dealer or that he/she robbed it from somebody else. That is a common stereotype created by society. One sees a woman in a designer's clothing, with a luxury car; one automatically assumes that she is shallow. The exterior appearance shows that she is a show off sort of speak, but what there is really inside, is a human being with ideas, and views the same things as the common person. Society itself which is supposed to be good is actually ignorant. When something different come to their eyes they become astonished and make assumptions that are not correct. In Frankenstein's story, society becomes afraid of the "monster" but what I feel is that they are afraid of it because they are afraid of things about which they know nothing. They only guide themselves by physical appearance. "All men hate the wretched; how then, must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things! Yet you, my creator, detest and spurn me- (Chapter 10) .
Sometimes we as humans cannot love or accept somebody if it is ugly. We always look for beauty first. This reaction could be explained as being part of nature. .
Human beings all want to be accepted in society for their intellectual and physical abilities. If a person is not accepted by society, he or she becomes something apart like the monster in Frankenstein. When the monster went into a town "One of the best of these I entered; but I had hardly placed my foot within the door, before the children shrieked, and one of the women fainted (Chapter 11). From that moment on he realized that people did not like his appearance and hated him because of it. If the people who lived in the village had not run away at the sight of him, then they might have even enjoyed his personality.
