The Most Dangerous Game Episodes of Conflict

Richard Connell's "The Most Dangerous Game is an adventous tale where the hunter becomes the "huntee". The main character, Sanler Rainsford, is in conflicts with nature, man, and himself. Rainsford's conflicts "are physical, mental, emotional, and moral".
The first episode of conflict is Rainsford against nature. After trying to rescue his pipe, Rainsford finds himself in a battle with the sea. Rainsford leans over the boat to listen to a sound, when he drops his pipe. Trying to catch the pipe, he in turn falls into the sea. It is not long before Rainsford realizes the only way to survive is to rescue himself. After his horrific battle with the sea, he finally finds the shore.
The second episode of conflict is a "battle of wits" between SAnger Rainsford and General Zaroff. Both men are extreme hunters;except one, General Zaroff, who enjoys hunting humans. When Rainsford tells Zaroffhow appalling he finds this to be, he becomes the "huntee". Rainsford does not enjoy being placed in this situation, so every chance he gets he tries to outsmart Zaroff. Even though it may seem Zaroff will win he is in the end the essential loser.
The tird episode illustrates Rainsford finding death's stare fixated on him. Rainsford is in the game, and he knows he must defeat Zaroff to survive. Throughout htis time of life or death, Rainsford continually tells himself "I will not lose my nerve.", and he does not lose his nerve. As he is veing hunter like an animal, Rainsford reminds himself he is the renowned hunter and his feelings are nothing but fear . He also knows that to end this fear he must end the game. .
