Of Mice and Men

I read the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Steinbeck was born in 1902 in Salinas, California. When he was growing up he spent his summers working on ranches. Little did he know that those summers would help him become a successful author in the 20th century. In 1919 he began taking classes at Stanford University. He studied there for 6 years but left without a degree. After that he wrote his first book. It was an adventure book called Cup of Gold and was published in 1929. Six years later is when his success lifted off. He wrote a book called Tortilla Flat and it was published in 1935. He won the 1940 Pulitzer Prize for his book The Grape of Wraths, which is considered his most famous novel. He also won the Nobel Prize in 1962. Steinback succeeded in writing novels but he also succeeded in filmmaking and scriptwriting. He was involved in the movies Viva Zapata, East of Eden, and Travels with Charley. He was involved in many great movies and novels in the short time he was on this earth. He died in 1968 at the age of 66.
