Memphis Belle Movie review

This is a movie about a group of ten men who are the crew of a plane called the Memphis Belle. This plane is on the final of its twenty-five flights. There is a party at the base where they are all somewhat, and rightfully so, scared. The next morning they run into a second dilemma, the target is not what they thought it was. They are charged with a much more difficult mission with a target surrounded by civilian buildings. The flight is delayed due to cloud cover and when they finally take off they are met with many groups of enemy fighters. Their escort turns back half way through the flight and they loose three bombers putting them into the lead position. On rout to their target they are greeted with a barrage of flack. There is a foreshadowing of a crewmember being shot when a can of tomato soup explodes in the cockpit. When they reach their target they find that complete cloud cover shrouds it and they have to turn back three times. They final are able to bomb the target when they find a small hole in the cover. On their way back they are faced with the decision of throwing their injured gunner out of the plane so he can reach a German hospital or keep him on the plane and risk him bleeding to death. They decide to leave him on the plane. They lose all but one engine on their way back and are greeted by a large group of their friends. I personally loved this movie because it seems to accurately portray the danger that bombers face during the war and their chance of survival.
