Produce an evaluation of the benefits and drawbacks of two different types of software packages for the production of any given type of document.
My two chosen software packages are Microsoft Word and Microsoft Notepad and I have chosen to do it on a word processed document.
Microsoft notepad is probably the most basic, simplest text editor you can probably get it is on all versions of windows. Microsoft word is the most used of word processing programs that are available today, and in my option I feel that it is probably the best word processing program ever! it is quite easy to use and help is always at hand when you need it the most. It offers a wide range of features that you can use to produce an assignment, a poster. You can changes the style, colour and size of the font. The feature that I like most about Microsoft word that Microsoft notepad does not have is the Spelling and Grammar checker. If you have spelt a word wrong then it will automatically correct the spelling for you or it will put a green or red line under the incorrect word. You can get the number of words that you have written up easily and this saves you time rather than counting the words. It creates tables, boarder's headers and footers, columns, the list is endless. It is the easiest word processing program to learn. Most of it features are on the toolbar and you can add or remove buttons and arrange the buttons the way that you would like them this means that you can personalise the program to the way that you want it. Word is perfect for a student, secretary or anyone who types a formal or informal letter or a document. .
Microsoft notepad came with the very first windows package, that is 17 years ago and it hasn't changed every much at all. Microsoft notepad takes up very little memory (52kb) and it would open a lot faster than Microsoft word. Notepad is just a simple basic word processing program, but you must not expect it to do anything fancy, because it can't.
