The first section of the Lumen Gentium basically explains what God wanted the people to know what about the church and to understand the concept of the Holy spirit and why Jesus came on to earth. .
The second section of the Lumen Gentuim speaks of The People of God. God has chosen to make men holy and save them, not as individuals but rather into people a people who might acknowledge him and serve him in holiness. He therefore chose the Israelites race to be his own and established a covenant with it. This all led to the new and perfect convent that was later ratified by Christ. But God wanted to make convents with his people to have them serve him and to have them are true to him and he would do the same for them. Christ made the new people "a kingdom of God". The baptized and the anointed by the holy spirit are consecrated to be a spiritual house and holy priesthood, that through all the works of Christian men they may offer spiritual sacrifices ad proclaim the perfection oh him who has called them form the darkness into his great light. Therefore, all disciples of Christ, preserving in prayer and praising God should present themselves as a sacrifice, living, holy and pleasing to God. The holy People of god, share also in Christ's prophetic office, it spreads a living witness to him, especially by a life of faith and love and by offering to God a sacrifice of praise. The characteristic is shown in the supernatural appreciation of the faith of the whole people, when manifest a universal consent in matters of faith and morals. All men are also called to belong to the new people of god. This people therefore, whilst remaining one and only one, is to be spread throughout the whole world and to all ages in order that the design of God's will may be fulfilled. He made human nature one in the beginning and has decreed that all his children who were scattered should be finally gathered together as one.
