Welcome To The Monkey House Vs. Tomorrow And Tomorrow And Tomorrow

The government has control over many things in this world today. They control things such as taxes, regulations of businesses, welfare, social security, and much more. Without the government being involved in many things, we would not be where we are today. There would be no structure to business, no money for welfare, and no extra money taken out of taxes. The government, so far, is a well needed thing. However, in many years, will it become too much? If we compare "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow" and "Welcome to the Monkey House," we will see similarities in style, themes, and narration.
Overpopulation in these two stories are both caused by the government because of their policies that they enforce. In "Welcome to the Monkey House," the government has a policy about sexual activity. The policy is that they are forced to take a birth control pill three times a day. This was a must, and if they do not take these pills, then they are fined $10,000 and up to ten years in prison . It is such a harsh punishment because the population is already 17 billion humans . They also have another way of trying to stop overpopulation. It consisted of a person going to the Suicide Parlor and asking the Hostess to kill them painlessly. It was basically encouraging ethical suicide. Both of these things in a way, deals with the government and their policy. They promote ethical suicide and they have a policy for birth control.
In "Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow," the government is also allowing overpopulation. They have a policy where they are forcing the 12 billion people to live together in little spaces. Extended families all live together in one house; grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, sons and daughters. Government is also allowing overpopulation here because they have a thing called Anti-Gerasone, which is a liquid that is available over-the-counter, making a person immortal.
