Morrison's writing was very easy for me to read and understand what she was trying to say or illustrate to the reader. ... I don't think I have read enough books or am old enough to appreciate the language she has used and how she used it, but I did notice that I have never read a book wrote quite the way she has done and I found it very intriguing. I would recommend this book to whoever wanted to learn about the stresses of society to be beautiful and the unthinkable reality of the poor black "ugly" girl during the 1940s.
