1. The Four Stroke Cycle
The four-stroke cycle is the foundation of the engine. The first stroke is the intake stroke which the intake valve opens and the air and gas mixture enter the combustion chamber. The second stroke is the compression stroke and when that occurs the piston heads towards the bottom of the cylinder and then starts to rise to the top.
