Introduction The epistle1 to the Hebrews is explicit in its presentation of the High Priest motif of Jesus Christ. The authorship of Hebrews has been in dispute; while some hold to Pauline2 authorship others maintain that it was written by an unknown author.3 While this is not the place to dig into the argument, I agree with the view that the author is unknown and will therefore use the term 'the author' in this paper.
