Cassandra and Apollo fell in love, yet she would not sleep with him. Cassandra had a longing to be a prophetess, so she told Apollo that she would sleep with him if he would turn her into a prophetess. Apollo agreed, but found that Cassandra had tricked him, as she was endowed with prophetic powers yet still refused him. In turn, Apollo made sure that Cassandra would be a prophetess that no one would believe. In the future, Cassandra became filled with visions of importance yet no one saw truth in her predictions, specifically the Chorus in "Agamemnon ", who did not believe her cautionary word...
