His feelings change after talking with his father's ghost which tells Hamlet "But know, thou noble youth, / The serpent that did sting thy father's life / Now wears his crown." After hearing this from his father's ghost he becomes angry even more at his mother, who has married this "serpent" barely a month after her husband's death.
