I believe Plato is saying that one who is enlightened has the mind to laugh at one coming from the darkness because this person coming from the darkness will soon be enlightened being able to see what he was unable to see in the darkness. On the other hand Plato is saying the unenlightened man cannot laugh at the enlightened man coming from the light back into the darkness because he has not seen the light. ...
