Brutus's first faulty judgment has to do with Cassius's motives. He believes that Cassius wants to kill Caesar for the well-being of Rome, while what Cassius truly wants is to cease being controlled by Caesar and take power over Rome. Brutus's main fault occurs when he opposes Cassius's idea to kill Mark Antony. Cassius knows that Mark Antony will always be loyal to Caesar, and that he has to be eliminated, since he is an excellent orator and holds great political power.
