I believe Thomas Jefferson would not be blissful or capsized by today's evolution. When Jefferson died he left strict instructions that only three things be inscribed on his tomb. ... But in a way to cut the deficit I am sure Jefferson would be all for cutting the Department of Education as a way to cut into the ridiculous deficit, as he sees it, knowing that enough individuals would have enough knowledge to efficiently run it on their own. ... But, I am sure that we have not lived up to his expectations, nor that we are as competent at building on the foundation as he was on laying it...
