Prizing feeling over than thinking, and trusting the heart rather than the head, people in the Great Awakening relied mainly on their minister to encourage their religious beliefs, and no longer the Bible. The ministers took to more than just preaching to white folk, also spreading the message of God to Native Americans and slaves.
