Through the use of dialogue, the reader can understand how slowly throughout the passage, Rosamond and Lydagate's marriage is falling apart due to their contrasting issues. Rosamond's sensitive and spoiled personality is shown through dialogue in the beginning of the passage when she asks her husband if he has "not asked Papa for money " which demonstrates how she tries to find the easy way out of things while also proving what a spoiled woman she is for asking her father for money, although she is an independent adult herself. ...
