He is determined to be a villain because he is not accustomed or designed as a human to be a lover since no one loves him anymore because of his deformity but later on in the play, we find out that he is just generally hated by everyone in his family (but Clarence until his own death) because of his wicked ways. ... This makes him extremely intelligent to be using her words out of context to put his own point across. ...
