The final line-- "Who, in despite of view, is pleased to dote- has a pun on the word "view,"" which sounds similar to "you."" ... As the persona points out, his lover does not have a delightful tune, and when read, the line sounds much like a tune, mainly because of the alliteration-- "thy tongue's tune,"" and the extra syllable emphasizes that idea of imperfection. ... The tone however, is much like the first quatrain, which is hopelessness. In the heroic couplet, the persona tries to justify (my addiction to you is something I consider advantageous because you give me torment) ...
